What is the STEM Educators Upskilling Program?

The STEM Educators Upskilling Program is a 100-day learning journey for teachers and educators who want to bring STEM, AI, ML, tinkering, coding, making, and hands-on learning into their classrooms in a practical way.

This program is designed to help teachers actually build something for their own school. It gives them the concepts, tools, assignments, peer support, and structure to design activities, lesson plans, STEM calendars, AI-supported learning material, and finally a capstone project.

So the simple answer is: this is a program designed to take educators from foundational concepts to advanced implementation, equipping them with the expertise, confidence, and leadership skills needed to progress into senior and strategic roles in education.

The program is designed for STEM and ICT teachers, robotics trainers, ATL coordinators, makerspace facilitators, STEM enthusiasts, and educators who  have a basic understanding of STEM, coding, AI, robotics, or innovation and want to advance their expertise.
It is also for the teacher who may not call themselves technical, but who deeply cares about children learning by doing. It is for the teacher who has always wanted to try something new, but did not know where to start.

Unlike traditional training programs that focus only on concepts, the STEM Educator Upskilling Program combines learning science, AI, ML, coding, robotics, design thinking, innovation frameworks, hands-on implementation, specialization pathways, mentorship, and a capstone project. Participants don’t just learn new skills, they build the confidence, portfolio, and professional identity needed to lead innovation in education.

The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to take educators from foundational concepts to advanced implementation, equipping them with the expertise, confidence, and leadership skills needed to progress into senior and strategic roles in education.

Here are the STEM Educator Upskilling Program perks that an individual will receive during and after completing the program.

1. Receive a Certificate of Completion from FSEF × STEMpedia and an Arduino Certificate upon successful project evaluation.

2. Get to attend three expert-led sessions on Arduino, hardware innovation, and physical computing with industry specialists.

3. You will be mentored by Harvard University alumni, IIT Kanpur alumni, STEMpedia leaders, and renowned education innovators.

4. Gain insights from distinguished speakers representing organisations like Google, UNICEF, and global innovation ecosystems.

5. Build an industry-ready capstone project and portfolio that demonstrates your expertise and implementation skills.

This is a beginner-level upskilling program. While prior expertise is not mandatory, participants will benefit most if they already have some exposure to STEM, coding, robotics, AI, tinkering, or technology-enabled learning.

Yes. The entire learning journey is conducted online through live sessions, practical activities, mentorship, and project work. Participants can learn from anywhere in the world.

The program runs for 4 months (100 days) and includes 20 interactive sessions delivered across 2 sessions per week.

Participants attend:
• 1 Theory Session (1.5 Hours)
• 1 Practical Session (1.5 Hours)
• 30-Minute Doubt and Support Session

The online version of the fellowship is designed around a simple weekly rhythm. Every week, there is a Thursday lecture or presentation session and a Saturday practical session.

The Thursday session introduces the concept. The Saturday session helps participants apply it.

So, for example, if Thursday is about learning science and how people learn, Saturday is about designing your own learning method for your students. If Thursday is about AI, Saturday is about conducting an AI-unplugged activity or designing an AI-supported lesson plan.

The program begins with a welcome session on July 4, followed by weekly sessions. The final event takes place during the October 10 weekend, with capstone reviews one week before. The last two weeks of September are intentionally kept for educators to work on their capstone projects independently.

Yes. Participants receive a STEM Educator Upskilling Program Certificate along with elective-specific certification based on their chosen specialization pathway.

Participants can choose one of the following pathways:
• Entrepreneurship (For Activity Centres)
• Composite Skill Lab Educator (For CBSE Schools)
• Makerspace Educator (For Cambridge and IB)

These tracks allow participants to specialize based on their interest and school context.

Not every educator needs the same pathway. Some may want to help students build business ideas. Some may want to integrate skill education. Some may want to run a makerspace or innovation club. The electives help teachers move from general exposure to a focused role.

Yes. Every participant completes a capstone project involving problem identification, implementation, documentation, review, and portfolio development.

Participants are invited to a one-day Graduation and Recognition Ceremony that can be attended online or offline at the selected venue(TBA). The event includes project showcases, mentor interactions, networking opportunities, and certification.

Yes. The top 2 performers from each specialization pathway will receive a 50% Program Cashback Award in recognition of exceptional implementation, innovation, and capstone performance.

No. The kit is completely optional, you can use similar kits, if you have any.. However, it is recommended for participants who want deeper hands-on experience in AI, robotics, electronics, prototyping, and classroom implementation.

Yes. Participants retain access to learning resources, session videos, templates, frameworks, and implementation materials developed during the program.

What is the School/Institution Cohort Package?

The School Cohort Package allows institutions to enroll up to 8 educators under a single enrollment plan to build an internal team capable of leading STEM, AI, Machine Learning, Robotics, Coding, Design Thinking, and innovation initiatives.

Any school that wants to move beyond passive learning should consider joining.

Government schools, private schools, low-cost private schools, school chains, NGOs, foundations, and education networks can all benefit.

The fellowship is especially useful for schools that have:

But even if a school has no lab, it can begin.

The institutional package is available at ₹60,000 + GST and $669 for up to 6 educators from the same institution.

Schools can nominate STEM teachers, ICT teachers, ATL coordinators, robotics trainers, innovation leads, makerspace facilitators, academic coordinators, and school leadership members.

Training a cohort of educators enables schools to build sustainable innovation capacity, improve implementation, create collaborative projects, and ensure continuity beyond a single champion teacher.

Yes. Participants from the same institution can choose different specialization pathways based on their interests and responsibilities.

Yes. Participating schools become part of the wider innovation ecosystem and gain visibility through project showcases, graduation activities, and implementation success stories.

Absolutely. Schools may choose to align participant projects around a common school challenge, STEM initiative, innovation lab, makerspace, or future skills program.

Yes. The program is designed for a global audience and can be attended by educators, schools, and institutions from any country.
